Just thought I would post a quick update and post a photo of one of the two Sequoia trees that survived after planting several last year.
This one is a Giant Sequoia Tree (Sequoiadendron giganteum).
At what point does a seedling officially become a tree? This article titled “The Life Span of a Sequoia” goes into more detail on the Sequoia life cycle. Perhaps right now it is technically a sapling? Or just a “young tree”.
This tree would likely be taller if I would have transplanted it sooner. But that’s ok, just happy I have two that are alive!
